Learning from the Inside Out

I started reading a book called Hospicing Modernity by Vanessa Machado de Oliveira, which is fundamentally affecting how I think about things... in a fascinating and positive way. It is making me question how our culture educates and teaches us how to relate to each other and all things.

This is timely because I am preparing to participate in another LAAB landscape architecture program accreditation visit, (this time at Temple University), so I've got academia on my mind.

Here's a taste of the kind of thinking I'm referring to. The author speaks in metaphor and uses story to explain complex ideas in a refreshing and engaging way.

Below is the full length interview that motivated this post. It's sometimes dense and meandering (I think that's intentional), but it's thankfully timestamped!
